Course Description

Specialising in both education and computing will equip students with a valuable blend of skills and knowledge for a fulfilling career in computing education This three-year degree will teach students how elements of computing can be applied to education and wider society, and ultimately help them find their place in an ever-shifting technological and educational landscape Students will develop a keen appreciation of learning in a digital age and they will assess and reflect on digital learning technologies central to current trends in education theory and practice Students will consider education in the widest context outside of formal primary and secondary school settings, to include social services, local and national government, and education within the community Work placements will also be undertaken in organisations such as schools, local authorities, businesses and charities Students will also be introduced to computing skills such as programming and computing system analysis, as well as the fundamental mathematics and theory of computer science This degree is delivered through lectures, tutorials and seminars. Assessment includes essay, coursework and examination, presentations and a dissertation
